Black Leaders Organizing for Communities

  • Everett Mitchell is a current Dane County Circuit Court judge, who previously worked as a restorative justice coordinator, an Assistant District Attorney, and as UW-Madison Director of Community Relations before getting elected judge in 2016. Mitchell also serves as pastor for Christ the Solid Rock Baptist Church, and is a longtime advocate for racial justice reforms in Wisconsin.

    Now the presiding judge for the Children’s Division in Dane County, Mitchell has worked to implement courtroom practices that focus on the humanity and needs of children in court. In his campaign for Wisconsin Supreme Court, Mitchell has focused on fairness and justice, and argues the Supreme Court should reflect the diversity of Wisconsin’s people and ideas.
