Votes YES for Orting Public Schools

  • Orting's kids deserve to learn in safe, secure, and modern facilities. To ensure every student has an opportunity to succeed. the board of the Orting School District No. 344 has put Proposition No. 1 to the voters this April.

If passed, this measure would allow for districtwide improvements, including the construction of a new Orting Elementary School, as well as science labs, classrooms, and athletic spaces at Orting High School. Any additional funds would go help renovate and expand classrooms and Ptarmigan Middle school and improve Orting Middle School.

The bonds would be paid for by a levy rate of $2.84 per $1,000 of assessed property value. This means that the owner of a $500,000 home could expect to pay about $1,420 a year.

Our students deserve excellent facilities that meet the needs of a growing community. Vote yes on Orting School District's Proposition No. 1.

Vote YES to expand and upgrade Steilacoom schools

  • As Steilacoom grows, our kids need more space and updated buildings to ensure a robust, modern education for every child. The board of the Steilacoom Historical School District has proposed Proposition 1 to fund much-needed expansion and upgrades to our schools.

This levy would fund a new elementary school, a high school stadium and performing arts center, additional career and technical education space and classroom space at the high school and middle schools, and improvements at every elementary school. This is a replacement for expiring bonds that would maintain the current tax level. At a rate of approximately $1.26 per $1,000 of assessed property value, the owner of a $500,000 home would pay roughly $630 a year.

Every elementary school in the district is currently overcrowded, and many schools need more space for athletics, career-focused training, classrooms, and more. Vote yes on Proposition 1 to ensure Steilacoom students have what they need to succeed in school and beyond.
